About Christopher Gil
Christopher Gil is the Founder and CEO of Optimal Sports Management. Christopher has always had a love for sports beginning at a young age. As a kid, he would constantly watch as many football games as he could with his father. His favorite football team growing up was the USC Trojans. This is where his love for the university began. He has vivid memories of watching Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, and Dwayne Jarrett create dazzling highlights at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Christopher Gil's Background
This love for USC football inspired Christopher to attend the University of Southern California. When Christopher began to attend USC, he soon implemented his passion into his academic curriculum by enrolling into the prestigious Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism and studying Sports Media. This interdisciplinary field gave him crucial knowledge and first-hand experience into: business, public relations, communication, and journalism.
Equipped with this knowledge, he soon began to gain first-hand experience by working with several different professional Los Angeles based sports teams. In addition to this, he also began to connect and network with various different sports professionals in the industry while a part of the USC Sports Business Association. When Christopher interned for an NFL sports law firm, it really opened up his eyes to the world of athlete representation. He immediately felt a strong passion to work alongside athletes and help them not only be the best athletes they can be on the field, but even better men off the field.
Christopher's Big Break in the Industry
When the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) legislation was passed in July 2021 that now allowed high school and college athletes to derive profit off their marketing, he immediately seized this opportunity and opened up his own sports management agency, Optimal Sports Management. The first player Optimal Sports Management partnered up with was 5-star USC running back Raleek Brown. After this huge signing, Optimal Sports continued to seek and partner with the best football talent within California. Optimal Sports Management now has an elite roster that boasts college players from various different universities across the nation and professional players as well.
Christopher's Future Plans
Upon graduating from the University of Southern California at the top of his class with Magna Cum Laude Honors (3.8 GPA), Christopher enrolled at Loyola Marymount University to attain his Master’s of Science in Business Management. By doing so, Christopher is not only learning how to be an innovative and effective business leader within the sports industry, but he is also doing it as a requirement to be an NFL Agent.
Christopher aspires to be one the first Mexican-American NFL agents to succeed in the industry and pave the path for more Hispanic agents to follow. He is very thankful to all his friends, family members, mentors, and clients who have helped him to be where he is at today. "Optimal To The Top" as he says.
